The graduate departments of the Tisch School of the Arts offer advanced coursework to qualified men and women who have an accredited baccalaureate degree (and for the Ph.D. programs in Cinema Studies and Performance Studies, an accredited Master of Arts or Master of Science degrees). Specific entrance requirements vary according to the program of graduate study.
An artistic review is required for most Tisch programs. Each department has its own specifications for review (e.g., an audition for Acting, writing samples for Dramatic Writing). All departments requiring creative materials ask that you submit them directly to the department, not to the Office of Student Affairs, by the application deadline.
Multiple Applications
You may apply for admission to a maximum of two Tisch programs in any given year. To reduce the possibility that supporting materials will be misdirected, applicants to two programs must submit separate applications for both programs. An additional application fee is required for the second program. Cinema Studies MA applicants should not apply jointly to the Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program.
